Xmas repair

As I went through the Christmas Market, the tire of my bike went flat.

A friend who lives in the neighborhood came and fixed it.

"If you can't fix it, you don't own it"

To witness yet again his skills to fix practically anything(furniture or even computers) reminded me of the word from "iFixit". This website is a global community of people helping each other repair things.

We tend to consume and give things which can not be fixed on our own, but only by using money. In both Japan and Germany We have this Christmas sales battle every year.
when and how this custom begins?

Before the World War, we used to have a different manner of reckoning one's age in Japan.
We were considered 0-year-old in the mother's womb. 1-year-old at birth, and become 2-years-old on New years day.
After this the New years was the day that everyone would become a year older. I don't think we gave presents on somebody's personal birthday, at least in Japan.
Will Jesus Christ give some present for somebody's birthday?

Actually, it's fun to buy things, and give presents to somebody.
But how long do we have to continue this way of living? It is clear that we have to give up this at some point.

Why don't we make Xmas as a repairing day. Not only a flat tire, but thing, systems, relationships... anything is OK.

Let's finish our consuming which is blinded by greed. Let's start repairing things!

P.S.
Dear SANTA
I want a bike with a chain that doesn't come off, and Tires that don't puncture easily. And if possible, I also want to have a new Mac Book with a long lasting battery and a new CPU, in my sox.
